Toronto / Remote / Must possess dangerous levels of taste
SIGNA is looking for an Art Director who treats visuals like architecture and emotion like a material. Someone who doesn’t just “make things look good” but builds entire atmospheres that can’t be ignored. You see grids the way composers hear rhythm. You feel typography in your bones. You obsess over the one-pixel shift that transforms a piece from “nice” to “holy shit.”
This role isn’t about style. It’s about vision control.
You define the visual gravity of every project. You take raw concepts and give them a body, a texture, a mood. You orchestrate designers, photographers, editors, and motion people into a single aesthetic broadcast. You ensure no frame leaves the studio unarmed.
– Taste calibrated to “lethal” – Mastery of composition, typography, contrast, and storytelling – Ability to push designers without breaking them – Experience crafting visual systems, not just layouts – A portfolio that makes us feel something we can’t shake
You’ve been the unofficial art director everywhere you’ve ever worked. People come to you when something “feels off,” even if they don’t know why. You carry a moodboard in your bloodstream. You’re the type who rearranges a whole design because a single element had the wrong energy. You aren’t here to decorate — you’re here to dictate.
Projects that demand taste, not templates. A studio that fights for aesthetics like they’re sacred. A seat next to people who work at your level of obsession. And a founder who will actually understand your madness.
Send us something that proves you’re the frequency we’ve been waiting for. A link, a deck, a film, a rant — whatever carries your voltage. arash@signa.agency Subject line: ART DIRECTOR
